Dammam University signs deal to train Passport Department officers

Dr. Abdullah M. Rubaish, rector of the University of Dammam, and Gen. Abdul Aziz Al-Bahlal of the General Directorate of Passports (GDP) signed a cooperation agreement for teaching scientific and practical courses to employees of GDP.
The cooperation agreement is a result of deepening relations between Dammam University and GDP. It is part of the strengthening and integrating of communication exercise between various government agencies.
The university will run programs and courses which will raise the scientific level of the employees at GDP at Faculty of Education in Dammam, Training and Community service.
Among the prominent personalities who attended the signing ceremony were Eastern Province GDP Gen. Daifallah Al-Huwaifi and College of Education Dean Dr. Abdulwahed Al-Mazrou.
The agreement calls for joint cooperation between Dammam University and GDP by implementing a plan for three years, in which they have to fulfill the training requirements and develop the areas of academic education. The university will offer training services, development studies, consultancy in the areas related to passports. Also the university will design programs and training courses as well as training packages to GDP.
Al-Rubaish said Dammam University is keen to explore the prospects of cooperation with government agencies and private sectors as well as charitable societies in order to cement social cohesion.
“Our aim is to serve the community through cooperation,” he said. “This agreement includes a number of provisions and objectives such as upgrading software applications, training, scientific studies and research.”
